Breakfast & Local Eating Places
We love our food at Hopton House and aim to use local or organic produce where possible.
Breakfasts are a relaxed affair, starting at 8.30 for the earlier riser and available till 10.00 if you want a lie in and can resist the smell of freshly brewed coffee and just baked muffins wafting up the stairs.
Start your day with some local apple juice or freshly squeezed orange juice and a bowl of our Hopton House Granola with natural yoghurt and homemade cinnamon spiced fruit compote.
Then tuck into a full cooked Shropshire breakfast including home cure bacon and locally made sausage from one of our many famous butchers and our own free range eggs cooked as you like them.
If you'd like a break from the traditional full English how about smoked haddock with a poached egg or blueberry pancakes & maple syrup?
If you prefer something lighter then try our freshly baked muffins or ginger scones . What about scrambled eggs and smoked salmon or a bowl of organic porridge topped with brown sugar?
There are some lovely places to eat locally - we do recommend The Jolly Frog near leintwardine ( 3 miles ) or The Baron of Beef at Bucknell ( 3 miles ) .
As the B&B has got busier we are no longer serving an evening meal at Hopton House but we are happy for you to bring in takeaways ( there is a very good fish and chip shop at Leintwardine ) or Deli nibbles ( lots of good options at the Ludlow Food Centre ) to eat in the guest dining room. You can also get takeaway pizza from the Jolly Frog.
