From Ludlow ( 10 miles )

 

Travel North of Ludlow on the A49 and take a left turn onto the A4113 Knighton Road, just after the Clive and Cookhouse Restaurant. Travel along this road for 5 miles till you pass the Jolly Frog Restaurant on your right. After about 200 yards there is small road on your right, take this road, turning right at the T junction at the end.

 

Travel for another mile until you come to a left turn on a sharp bend. Take this left turn and travel along this road for a mile, turning right at the T junction. In the centre of Hopton Heath is a 3 way road junction. Turn left over the railway bridge, following the road round to the right. Hopton House is the 2nd house on your left.

 

From Craven Arms ( 6 miles )

 

At the Craven Arms hotel there is a mini roundabout. Take the B4368 Clun road ( Right turn if approaching from the North ). About a mile along this road is a left turn, sign posted Hopton Heath, Clungunford etc. There is also a brown tourist sign for the Bird on the Rock tearooms.

 

Take this road and follow it through Clungunford to Hopton Heath. At the 3 way junction in Hopton Heath, turn right over the railway bridge, follow the road round to the right and Hopton House is the 2nd on the left.
